Sweet as Bro'

Publié par Titi & Téo sur 11 Avril 2013, 03:54am

It feel strange to be on the North Island but we're happy to be in Wellington. It's a lovely city, we feel some good vibes here. We go out on Cuba Street the first night to eat a yummi wood-fired pizza and have some drinks at Sandwiches (or Pickles).
The next morning we visit New Zealand's museum « Te Papa ». There is heaps to see there.

After what we start heading north.

The day after, the 30th, we had a coffee in Palmerston North and spend the day in Hasting and Napier. Cool little town by the sea. And we slept in the nice Glenfalls campground.

Then we end up in Taupo. We do a walk around the lake and we soak in the 40C natural pools et the end of Spa Rd.

On the way to Rotorua we stop at Wai-O-Tapu a curious geothermal park. Big pools of boiling mud, rainbow smoking pools, fumaroles... all of this in the smell of sulfur. It's cool but nothing compare to what I've seen in Yellowstone, USA.

In Rotorua, we feel like Mario in Mario Kart, on the luges. Good fun & good night in a BACKPACKER!
IT feel weird to us to cross as many big cities, we feel in an other country.

The weather start to be pretty bad so we drive up to Tauranga, have a nice lunch in a vegetarian restaurant, and go to the movies.
We sleep among the sheep in McLaren Falls. The place look really beautiful, but it keeps raining, so we keep driving to Coromandel.
